How to Have That Perfect Summer Body

The first sign that summer is here is the hot weather. The other – the full gyms. With summer approaching, everybody is rushing to get that perfect, toned body they always wanted. However, a lot of us struggle to get on that fitness journey and if you want to make it a reality, keep on reading.

Eat the right food

Although a lot of us think that going to the gym is the most important in getting fit, that is not true. The first and most important thing you should do is change your eating habits. A healthy diet does not mean you are going to be hungry, or that you are going to eat only fruits and vegetables. Of course, the diet you should follow depends on your goal. If you want to lose weight, eating fewer calories is the way to go. On the other hand, if you want to get lean and build muscle, proteins and caloric surplus will be the key. If you have a hard time staying on the right track and even finding ideas about what food to make, you can get help. Personalized healthy meal plans will be created according to your needs and wishes and will affect the exact problem that you have whether it is controlling cravings, eating less or eating more. Preparing meals in advance and even getting them delivered to your home is also an option. That way, you won’t break your diet.

Include workouts in your daily routine

As we said, nothing would be possible without working out. Nowadays, there are many fitness programs you can choose from. Playing a sport, jogging, doing yoga, or working out in the gym are some of the options. If you are a beginner, you should definitely ask, but here are a few directions to help you decide what type of exercise is best for you. If you like working out in groups, playing a sport might be the best option for you. It is very dynamic, and certainly a fun way to get in shape. Yoga or Pilates is something that you can try if you don’t feel like you have a lot of energy and intense training and sports is not your cup of tea. By stretching your body, you will most certainly become more flexible, and even get toned muscles if that is something you like. Working out in the gym is the most popular way to get fit. It combines both cardio and weight training and gives you the results you wanted. Talk with a personal trainer, let them make a plan for you, and exercise with them from the very start if you are a beginner and want to avoid any injury. Treadmill, bike, free weights and machines are just some of the possible exercises you can do.

Include fitness into your daily life

If you don’t have the time to do all of the mentioned above, you can also work out at home, or include some basic exercises into your daily routine. Squats, spit squats, push-ups and ab exercises are just some of the things you can do while watching a movie for example. If you have a set of stairs in your home, go ahead and climb up and down a few times a day. On a beautiful day, step outside with your friends and family and play volleyball or simply go for a long walk.

How to stay motivated through the whole process

You probably have a certain goal you want to achieve, but sometimes it is hard for us to keep up. Finding the motivation to work out on some days is the hardest thing for us, although not impossible. Some respond best to looking at other people’s progress, and if this is you, then you can print the photos of your role model and remind yourself of why you started. Another powerful motivator is thinking about if you had started a year ago, you would be closer to your goal. This is not a pessimistic attitude, rather just one way to keep you going. One more practical thing you can do is taking pictures of your progress. Looking at your body and your mind change will make you want to work and try harder every day until you get where you want to be.

These are all just basic tips that you need to follow, although once you start, you will get to know your body better and be able to give it what it wants and needs. The important thing is to learn to love the healthy lifestyle and everything else will come easily.

  • I find every of the advise very insightful. I believe that only certain way to feel confident is to work on your body all year long. If you are a gym type, find yourself a practice regime that fits you, and supply yourself with everything necessary – from drinking bottles, a rucksack to appropriate gymwear such as the one from Ryderwear If you are more into outdoor activities, make a routine to go running, for example, at the same time every day. Regular activity during the whole year will make us look the way we want to, and the body image and self-confidence won’t be something we should worry about.
