When every second of your life is booked, it can be hard to find time and slow down to pay some attention to yourself. Self-care practices can greatly affect the quality of your work, family life and general happiness, with a huge impact on your physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and social life. So how can you use self-care to improve every area of your life? 

What is self-care

Before we turn to the effects of self-care and ways you can practice it, we need to understand what exactly self-care is. This term is present in almost all media, especially lately, yet it’s often misunderstood. For instance, many people think that self-care involves treating yourself to cool things, pampering at a spa or doing “girly” things. In reality, self-care includes all actions that improve your well-being. 

Simply put, self-care includes all the steps you take during the day to take good care of yourself—it’s like putting in small deposits into your wellness bank, so you have energy and motivation reserves to draw from when times get tough. Of course, you can practice self-care in many different ways and focus on different elements of your life. 

Taking care of your body
