Parisienne

Sé que he hablado de esto en otras ocasiones, pero seguramente no muchos saben que viví en el 2011 en Paris por varios meses. Es mi ciudad soñada. Amaba despertarme, bajar para ir a la universidad y caminar esas dos cuadras hasta el metro. Al bajar pasaba por la panadería de la esquina donde me llenaba un aroma a baguette recién salido del horno para pasar por la calle con varios cafés y carritos de gauffres (waffles), así que todo olía a dulce, waffles y pan. Claro que en algunas partes del metro olía a pila, pero ese no es el punto. Me concentro en lo que amaba de esa ciudad, caminar al lado del río Sena, pasar por Notredame mientras cantaba las canciones de Disney en mi cabeza, comer escargot en un Bistro viendo la torre Eiffel a lo lejos, la vista desde el mirador de Sacré Coeur, crêpes de nutella con plátano, Disney a 30 minutos en tren, la ciudad iluminada de noche, les Champs Elysées con luces navideñas a fin de año y los escaparates de mis tiendas favoritas que admiraba desde fuera.

¡Fueron meses maravillosos! Con fe regresaré por fin este año que viene, pero eso no quiere decir que no me jure parisina también en el fondo de mi corazón. Obvio que ante todo soy peruana, pero en mi cabeza tengo múltiples nacionalidades, me considero ciudadana del mundo y quiero conocerlo enterito enterito, así que este top de DEAD LEGACY me ayuda a recordar una de mis ciudades favoritas.

I know I’ve talked about this before, but probably a lot of you guys don’t know I lived in Paris for a few months in 2011. It’s my dream city. I loved to wake up, get down to go to school and walk two blocks to the metro station. I would pass the bakery on my corner where I was filled with a freshly-baked-baguette aroma, just to walk a street with various cafés and gauffres (waffles) carts, so everything smelled like bread, and sweet like gauffres. Of course some parts of the metro smelled like pee, but that’s not the point. I’m concentrating in what I loved about that city, walking by the Seine river, pass by Notredame while singing the Disney songs in my head, eating escargot in a Bistro while spotting the Eiffel Tower from afar, the view from the top of Sacré Coeur, Nutella and banana crêpes, 30 minute away Disney parks, the city lighted up at night, les Champs Elysées with the christmas light by the end of the year, the window displays of my favorite stores.

They were wonderful months! Hopefully, I will be returning this upcoming year, but that doesn’t mean that in the bottom of my heart, I feel like a parisian girl. Obviously, I’m peruvian first and foremost, but in my head I have multiple nationalities, I consider myself a citizen of the world and I want to know it all, every corner of it. This DEAD LEGACY is a great reminder of one of my favorite cities.
