Pachacamac

Mis amigos y familia son lo más importante para mí, ¿creo que eso ya lo había mencionado, no? En realidad mis amigos más cercanos son como familia y el sábado pasado, por el cumple de mi amiga Mónica, nos fuimos todos a pasar el día en Pachacamac, donde ella tiene una casa y chacra donde crece de las más deliciosas mandarinas.

El plan empezó recontra full pilas con una ida en bus todos juntos y mis amigos Claudio y Alejandro estaban a cargo de ser los animadores del día… no sabíamos que habían tomado su trabajo tan en serio pues tenían muchos ase bajo la manga. Se encargaron de enpilarnos en el bus así que llegamos a la casa de Mo recontra listos. Aprovechando de un horno de barro que tienen en la casa, el menú del almuerzo eran unas pizzas a la leña BUENASASASAS.

My friends and family are the most important thing for me, I have said that before right?  Actually my closest friends are like family and last saturday, for my friend Monica’s birthday, we spent the day at Pachacamac, where she has a house and fields where she grows the most delicious tangerines. 

The plan started with the batteries well-charged on a bus ride with everyone, in which my friends Claudio and Alejandro were in charge of hosting the day of activities… little did we know they took their job so seriously and had so many aces under their sleeves. They took it upon themselves to make sure we arrived ready to Mo’s house. Since she has an oven the menu for lunch was pizzas that were YUMMYYY.

Luego comenzaron las actividades. Después de comer prácticamente mi propio peso en pizza, nos separaron en dos equipos, el amarillo y el rojo y empezamos con los juegos. El primero en la lista era carrera de sacos. Agrégale un terreno desnivelado en pendiente hacia abajo y el hecho de que había que llegar a la mesa, tomar un shot de pisco y volver. Pensé que me caería, gracias al cielo no pasé ese papelón jaja, pero mi equipo no ganó.

After that the activities started. After eating practically my own weight in pizza, we got split into teams, yellow and red and started the games. First on the list; sack race. Add uneven steep ground and a shot the pisco after arriving at the table and back. I though I was gonna fall, but thank God I didn’t suffer from that humiliation. Still, my team didn’t win this round.

Para el siguiente juego, hicimos una versión moderna de BATTLESHIP que nunca antes se me había ocurrido #CorrompieronUnJuegoDeMiInocenteInfancia. Hicieron los grids con masking tapes y llenaron vasitos con trago para armas como si fueran los botes. Si aciertas el del otro equipo tenía que tomar ese shot, ganaba quien lograba que el otro equipo se tomara toda su mesa. ¡En este juego si ganó mi equipo!

For the next game, we did our own modern version of BATTLESHIP that I had never thought of before #YouJustCorruptedAnInnocentChildhoodGame. They made the grids with masking tape and filled little cups with drinks that were places like the ships. If you guessed and hit the other teams ship, they had to drink it. The winner was the team that got the other team to drink all of their “ships” first. We won this one ;)

¡Luego nos pusimos a cosechar mandarinas que yo pensaba era el siguiente juego! Que el equipo que recolectara la mayor cantidad de mandarinas ganaba, pero al final todos ganábamos; nos llevamos a la casa las mandarinas que cada uno recolectó. Mi mamá amó ese premio jeje.

Next we were off to collect tangerines. I thought this was another game and the team that collected more won, but we all won, since we all got to take home all the tangerines we collected. My mom loved that prize hehe.

Para cerrar con broche de oro un día perfecto, Moni, la cumpleañera, nos tenía una sorpresa. Momento romántico cual Rapunzel en Enredados, sólo faltaba poner de fondo “I See the Light”, con las linternas que enciendes, pides un deseo y las dejas ascender y perderse en el cielo. Son medio tricky y no nos ligó que ascendieran todas, además de que habían muchos árboles y teníamos miedo de iniciar un incendio forestal, pero si varias. ¡Fue perfecto!

To end a perfect day with a cherry on top, Moni, the birthday girl had a surprise in store for us. It was quite the romantic moment like Rapunzel in Disney’s Tangled, all that was missing was “I See The Light” as background song, with the floating lanterns that you light up, wish upon it and let it go up in the sky. They are kinda tricky, some didn’t quite make it and because of the trees we were afraid to start a forest fire, but still, some made it. It was perfect!

Luego el bus de regreso fue hasta más intenso que el de ida, ¡estuvo épico! La verdad que fue un día perfecto de inicio a final. Sé que Moni pasó un cumple increíble y así se lo merecía. Amo a mis amigos, ojalá pudiéramos hacer cosas así todos los fines de semana. En realidad, aunque Pachacamac esté tan cerca, es rico alejarse de la ciudad; saludable. ¡Se los recomiendo, chiquis!

Then on the bus ride back was even more intense that the first one, it was epic! The truth is it was a perfect day from start to end. I know Moni had and incredible birthday and deserved it. I love my friends, I wish we could do things like this every weekend. It’s nice to get away from the city, even though Pachacamac is so close. Healthy too, I recommend it!
