1. Jo March from Little Women

In a time were “married” was the most relevant thing a woman could be, Jo March refused to let norms of a society of such nature dictate who she should be. Her main concern was her family and her ambitions, these were the things she considered important and she chose to only care about that. Jo is a perfect example of how we can rise above the expectations people may have for us and that we have the power to build our own future.

2. Mare Barrow from Red Queen

This character’s drive is truly awe-inspiring. Mare always finds the way to look at the bright side of whatever situation she may find herself in, no matter how messy it is, and help people however she can. She is a strong individual, with deep-rooted beliefs and incredibly loyal to herself; in other words: she is the perfect role model.

3. Starr Carter from The Hate U Give

Starr teaches us the importance of speaking up and taking action when facing injustice. In the world we live in we can’t keep quiet when we witness something that is simply not right. Our voices have power, especially when they’re joined together, so we have the responsibility to make an example out of Starr and call out the misdeeds we identify.
