Disney Looks

¡Ya volviiiii! Hola a todos, heme aquí de regreso de mi viaje cumpleañero (#BestTripEver). Igual haré un post rememorando mis aventuras estos pasados días, pero primero pensé en compartir con ustedes mis outfits en Disney.
Algunos se preguntarán qué tiene de especial un look para Disney, no es que uno vaya súper producido a los parques (aunque no lo crean nunca falta la señora caminando por ahí en tacos que parece que va a cenar al Bellagio en Las Vegas y con cara de dolor con cada paso que da). Es justamente eso. No se trata de producirse, sino de divertirse. Yo siempre digo que la moda es para expresarse y divertirse.
Acá mis look de cada día de la semana.

Im baaack! Hey everyone, I’m back from my birthday trip (#BestTripEver). I will still do a post telling u all about my adventures these past days, but first I thought of sharing with you my outfits at Disney.
Some of you may wonder what’s so special in an outfit to go to Disney, since nobody really produces themselves much for it. It’s exactly that. It’s not about producing, it’s about having fun. I always say fashion is about expressing ourselves and and having fun.
Here my looks for each day of the week.
El primer día no estaba muy segura de clima, así que fui safe con jean, zapatillas y OBVIO mi polo de mickey. Para un toque chic me puse amarré un pañuelo estilo turban, y no le podía negar a mi niña interior pintarnos la cara como Minnie jaja. El día dos fuimos a Animal Kingdom, era caluroso y ¡quise ponerme lista para el safari! Un short a la cintura un crop de tigre, mis botines (unos sunnies atigrados) y estaba lista para la acción. El tercer día fuimos a Epcot para el festival internacional de food and wine, empezó fresco, pero luego salió un sol calcinante. Usé mi falda denim a la cintura y un crop top. Para el pelo, una cola alta para más frescura.

I wasn’t qute sure of how the weather was like, so on the first day I decided to play it safe and went for a pair of jeans, sneakers and OBVIOUSLY my Mickey tee. For a chic touch, I tied up a scarf turban-style, and of course, couldn’t refuse my inner child the chance of painting my face as Minnie Mouse. On day two we went to Animal Kingdom, it was hot and I wanted to be ready for a safari! High-waisted shorts, a tiger crop, booties and I was ready for the action. On the third day we went to Epcot for the International Food and Wine Festival, it started off cool, but then a burning sun came out. Wore my denim high-waisted skirt and a crop top. Nothing keeps you fresher than a high ponytail.
El cuarto, pasé el día en el parque de agua, pero esa noche fuimos a una fiesta navideña en Magic Kingdom. Como éramos tres, quisimos hacer disneybouding (vestirse inspirado en un personaje de Disney, ver más ejemplos aquí) que funcionara de a tres, y escogimos los gatitos de los aristogatos. Yo era Marie, toda de blanco con acentos en rosado con el lazo, los zapatos y dos moñitos para que parezcan mis orejas de gato. El quinto día íbamos a ir en la noche a un restaurante para cenar así que quería estar cómoda para el día pero lo suficiente put together como para la cena. Pude estrenar mis cut out boots :D El sexto día fue el día más frío, y aunque no lo crean, llevo tres capas de chompas.
El último, y más importante día de todos fue… ¡mi cumpleaños! Le quise hacer homenaje a mi princesa favorita (ya que conocerla era nuestra primera parada ese día en el parque). Amo este polo de Ariel, me gusta su corte y silueta suelta, que me parece que iba lindo con el short de talle alto y una correa con lazo. Para cuando comenzó a enfriarse el día, seguí con la temática de princesas con mi sweater de Blancanieves, que luego de este viaje, pasó a ser una de mis princesas favoritas.

On the fourth, I spent the day at the water park, but at night we went to a christmas party at Magic Kingdom. Since we were three, we wanted to disneybound (dress inspired in a Disney character, check out more examples here) as a trio, and chose the Aristocats kitties. I was Marie, so I was all in white with pink accents, like the loafers, bow and the two hair buns to the sides to simulate the ears. On the fifth day, we were going for some fancy dinner at night, so had to be comfy for the day and look put-together enough for dinner. My new cut-out boots made their debut :D Day six was the coldest, and believe it or not, had to wear three layers of cardigans and jumpers.
The last, and most important was… my birthday! I wanted to make an homage to my favorite princess (since our first stop at the park was her meet-n-greet). I love this Ariel shirt, its cut and loose silhouette, which goes great with the high-waisted denim shorts and bow belt. When the day got colder, I kept the princess theme and put my Snow White sweater on, who, after this trip has climbed her way up to being one of my favorite princesses now.
Para mí hay tres reglas básicas para los looks en Disney: comodidad, clima y elemento Disney temático.
COMODIDAD. Vas a estar caminado todo el día, paraándote, sentandote y haciendo fila. Si estás incómodo la vas a pasar mal. Recomiendo cero tacos (wedge sneakers fresh), unas zapatillas o botines cómodos son buenas opciones. Balerinas también, pero aseúrense de que no son de esas que te sacan ampollas, por que recuerden que van a caminar un montonón.
CLIMA. Depende de la época del año, si se va en julio, ¡el calor es a morir! Pero en esta época el clima varía mucho, por lo que recomiendo saber de antemano el clima que habrá ese día, y siempre ir en capas. Hubo un día en que tenía tres chompas puestas del frío que hacía, y otro en el que no aguantaba más el sol. Mejor estar preparados.
ELEMENTO TEMÁTICO. Éste para mí es un MUST. Como ir a Disney se trata de divertirse, siempre aprovechar de usar algo temático, como los polos o sweater de Mickey, sombreros, divertirse Disneybounding un día, o sí vas a Animal Kingdom, vestirse con temática de Safari como hice yo. La cosa tampoco es disfrazarse, pero si relajarse, divertirse y no tomarse las cosas muy en serio.

To me, there’s three basic rules to put together looks for Disney: comfort, weather and Disney thematic element.
COMFORT. You are going to be walking all day, standing, sitting, waiting in line. If you are gonna be uncomfortable you are gonna have a bad time. My recommendation? No heels (wedge sneakers are ok), sneakers or comfy booties are good options. Also flats, but make sure they don’t give u blisters, as I said, you are going to be walking a lot.
WEATHER. Depends of the time of the year, if it’s july, it’s too hot! But at this time, the weather changes a lot, so I recommend you know with anticipation what the temperature is going to be that day, and always wear layers. One day I had three jumpers on, and there was another I couldn’t take more clothe off because of the heat. Better be prepared.
THEMATIC ELEMENT. This one, to me, is a MUST. Since Disney is about having fun, you should take advantage and do a theme with at least a piece of your look, like Mickey shirts or sweaters, hats, Disneybounding, or if going to Animal Kingdom, just embrace your wild side with a safari theme like I did. You don’t have to be in costume, just relax, have fun and don’t take yourself too seriously.
