Body Positivity Lessons for Every Woman

It’s a tough time to be anything else than perfect. It seems that as we’re becoming more technologically advanced, we’re judging people more and more. Even though this was the case before as well, technology, fashion magazines and the skyrocketing use of social media on which everyone advertises their amazing bodies have made it quite impossible to be entirely happy with how we look. But luckily for us, we realized this soon enough, so body positivity became one of the most discussed issues online. What is body positivity though? According to the National Eating Disorders Collaboration, body image is a perception that a person has of their physical self and the thoughts and feelings that result from that perception. Needless to say, we should all together work on this, but how? This is one of those things that are easier said than done, as how are you going to keep a positive body image if you’re not satisfied with your body? Well, we have several answers for you, so take a look:

Do not take social media seriously

You cannot scroll through your Instagram or Facebook feed without seeing girls who are rocking amazing outfits that you think you can only dream of. The pressure became even stronger once TikTok was introduced, as it’s there that you can see those beautiful female bodies dancing around or merely walking. Yes, it might be a difficult time to be alive, but it’s very important for you to realize that you should never take those things for granted, for several reasons.

  • First of all, everyone looks better in photographs than in reality, especially in 2020. The popularity of different beauty apps such as Facetune has made it possible for every girl to look amazing, which means that you can also look like you came out of a fashion magazine.
  • The bodies that you see online that perhaps bring your spirits down make up for a very small portion of society. Take yourself as an example. Do you pose in a bikini showing off your body? Would you, bearing in mind that you’re not satisfied with it? Exactly. The majority of women think just like you.
  • Filter your social networks and hide all types of posts that make you feel uncomfortable.

Embrace your body just as it is

You’re one of a kind, and that’s the mantra that you should go by. Not everyone is made the same, and the beauty of a female body lies in its uniqueness. This is just another reason why you should always focus on the positive things about your body. Body changes are inevitable, so the only thing left for you to do is embrace them. This is especially important once you enter menopause, as that is the time when a woman faces the most changes, not only physical, but also mental. Do not forget to use the best menopause supplements that you can find; these will help you take control of your body and be more satisfied with it in the long run. What you can do is pay closer attention to the things you are doing with your body. This is the time to give your body what it wants, not because you will look skinnier or more fit, but because health should be your #1 concern.

Wear everything with confidence

One of the biggest challenges women who are not satisfied with their body face is finding the right clothes for them, but be illuminated: you can wear whatever you want. If you feel confident wearing that specific outfit, if you feel good in it, no one can tell you it’s not for you. Another goal you should give yourself is to make yourself wear the clothes, and not the other way around. Wearing your outfits with confidence can enhance your appearance regardless of your body type. There are plenty of women who use fashion just for this purpose, and it works well. This is not an easy task (it’s tough to do something that your mind is telling you not to do), but if you’re confident in yourself, if you have positive people around you who will only lift your spirits, you will be able to make it.

What else is there to say? Always be satisfied with yourself because that is who you are and that is what makes other people like you. Never try to be anyone else but you. Do whatever you can to achieve your goal but don’t beat yourself up if you set yourself high expectations.
