5 Books Soon to Be Movies

May 25, 2017 8:30 am

Many people say that reading a book is like watching a movie in your head: you can imagine every character, every scene, every beautiful moment and picture it however you like. But sometimes those movies we make up in our heads end up surprising us and becoming real life projects. In all honesty, I don’t usually love these adaptations since lots of changes are made, which might be hard to be okay with, especially if you’re a big fan of the story (I speak from experience). Up next, 5 books that will be or are already going through this process:

1. Let it Snow

This book follows three different stories, all of them taking place around Christmas. The novel is funny and romantic and definitely great material for movie-making (if loyal to the original storyline). One of the authors of the book is John Green, the man behind the bestselling “The Fault in Our Stars”, so this gives us a clue as to what to expect.

2. Everything, Everything

This story is a treasure. The book is super dynamic, excellently written and the movie seems to be going down the same path. It opens in theaters shortly and it looks so good. I’ll leave the trailer below so you can see what I’m talking about.

3. All the Bright Places

This book has Paper Towns’ vibes, the John Green novel which also got turnt into a movie, still All the Bright Places is incredibly original and a real page-turner. The story is beautiful, the romance is amazingly well developed and I’m curiously awaiting to see how it gets transformed into film.

4. Red Queen

Spectacular. This book is simply spectacular and has so much potential for the big screen. I believe the adaptation will be amazing, especially because it is in the hands of Elizabeth Banks, who played Effie in The Hunger Games. There is no release date for the movie yet, but the first three books in the series are already out, so if you get the chance read them (!!)

5. Wonder

I previously mentioned this book in the article 5 Books that Will Change the Way You See the World and it was because my perspective of the world was indeed changed after I was done reading it. I think that making this book into a movie will help transmit its message to more people and have a positive impact in all of them.

This 5 books are really close to my heart and I hope they are transformed in depth and true to the original story. Fortunately, that seems to be the case so far and i have faith in this adaptations. If you haven’t read these books yet, I recommend you do before the movies come out, so you’ll be able to enjoy them better. And tell me in the comments what you think about book to movie adaptations.
