Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to announce that spring is here And you know what this means – more time spent outside, better weather, and of course – the annual spring cleaning. However, this year you could do it a bit differently. After cleaning your house for spring, it’s time to clean yourself from the inside out. What is that, you ask? This spring your goal is not only to have a clean house, but a clean mind and body. This definitely is a challenge, but if you manage to succeed, you will see the difference not only in your mood, but your overall health as well. Take a look at the most important tips on how to clean yourself this spring from the inside out:

Declutter

This is definitely a task that will be done in the actual spring cleaning of your house, but it’s good to emphasise how important this is for your own mood, as well. Clutter often reflects unfinished business or laziness, and neither of them should be present in your life. If we have clutter in our homes, we have a block of negative energy that could be quite difficult to get rid of. Decluttering our homes will help us create more space for fresh energy, inspiration and emotional growth. You will definitely feel lighter which will result in an overall better mood. So clean your wardrobe, your cupboards, your bathroom, your kitchen and your bedroom. Find all the things that no longer deserve or need to be in your life and simply throw them away, no matter how sentimental you feel about them.

Keep your windows open

Letting fresh air in your home is always important. So open your windows, let the fresh air, sunrays and the smells of spring into your own home. This energy will furthermore motivate you to spring clean yourself inside out, as fresh air can make us do wonderful things. And since we are practically beside ourselves with joy that spring is coming, this is a logical step.

Stay active during the day

Apart from taking up a sport and being active those couple of hours a week, make sure to keep your body active at all times. This means that you have to walk as much as you can, so if your office is nearby, go on foot rather than driving there or taking the local transport. If you live on the eighth floor, for instance, consider walking rather than using the elevator.

Be healthier

Spring cleaning is not only decluttering and being positive. It’s also about cleaning your own body, so what you can do is try and stay healthy. The first thing you need to do, so you know what the next steps are, is to have your body mass index calculated. This great BMI calculator will tell you where you stand with your body mass index, so you can start from there. Furthermore, make sure to eat healthily during spring. It was quite logical that you had been eating junk food in fall and winter, but now it’s going to be spring, so we don’t actually need that much unhealthy food, do we? Go to the farmers’ markets, buy yourself plenty of vegetables, make some smoothie and cook at home – if not now when everything is green and tasty, then when?

Take up a sport

Speaking of staying healthy, another thing you should try and introduce to your routine so you could clean your body of toxins and negativity is to take up a sport that you’ve always wanted. If this is going to the gym – go ahead. However, there are also other sports you might consider, such as boxing, tennis or swimming – the sky is the limit, simply go for the sport that’s most attractive to you. In case you’re not a sporty person but want to stay active and healthy, you could always sign up for pilates or yoga class. Yoga is known for enhancing one’s mood and will definitely help you a lot this spring and summer.

Leave the bad things behind

Finally, it’s very important to promise yourself not to dwell on the past and the past mistakes. Perhaps you’ve had a bad breakup or there’s simply something that is holding you back. Remember, you are the most important person in your life, so you should do whatever it takes to be happy. Don’t linger, and never take walks down memory lane – rather, make new memories with your best friends or new people. You never know what’s waiting around the corner.

Spring cleaning – yes! This is definitely something you should consider, especially if you want this year to be different and filled with more imagination, hard work, better mood and positivity.
